Understanding hardware & software integration
Hardware integration is software work with a physical constraint attached. The application logic is normal; what makes it different is the environment — a device with a specific protocol, a network that may not be reliable, an operator wearing gloves, and a process that cannot stop while you debug.
The most common projects are simple in concept and valuable in effect: a barcode scan that records a stock movement instantly, an RFID read that confirms a pallet left the building, a camera that logs entry against an employee record. In every case the gain is the same — data captured at source, with no second entry step and no transcription error.
We are careful about what we claim to support. Device families follow common patterns, but every manufacturer differs in the detail. We confirm compatibility against your actual model and firmware before committing to it, rather than assuming.

Hardware & Software Integration — common questions
Do you support our specific scanner or terminal model?
We confirm that against your exact model and firmware before quoting. Most devices expose a documented SDK, a serial or network protocol, or keyboard-wedge input, and any of those can be integrated. We will not claim support for a manufacturer we have not verified.
Can we use phones instead of dedicated scanners?
Often yes. Phone cameras handle barcode and QR scanning well for moderate volumes and cost far less. Dedicated devices still win for high-volume picking, long-range scanning and rough environments.
What happens when the network goes down?
The capture application is built to keep working offline, queue the events locally and synchronise when the connection returns, with conflict handling for anything that changed in the meantime.
Is facial recognition allowed in Malaysia?
Biometric data is personal data under the PDPA and must be handled accordingly — a lawful purpose, informed consent, defined retention and controlled access. We build those requirements into the design, and we recommend confirming your specific use with your own legal advisor.
Can device data go into our existing system?
That is usually the point. Captured events are pushed into your inventory, HR or operations system through its API, database or import interface.
